workshop descriptions
Do you love to write? In this workshop, you'll discover fresh inspiration for stories and poems through playful, hands-on activities. We’ll then explore the fundamentals of storytelling and poetry to refine our ideas and create original work that no AI could ever come up with!
Step into the world of broadcast journalism as you learn to pitch, script, and produce news stories for radio and television. Whether you're behind the mic or behind the camera, you'll collaborate in UOW’s professional studios to produce stories for a live-streamed segment. On day one, you'll focus on radio journalism; on day two, you'll dive into video journalism.
Participate in our Observational Drawing Workshop, aimed at developing core skills in accurate visual observation and transcription. This session will focus on refining your ability to analyse form, structure, and composition through careful study of objects and scenes. Guided by experienced instructors, students will explore various techniques to improve precision, shading, and perspective, fostering both technical proficiency and artistic interpretation. This workshop provides an opportunity to deepen understanding of observational practice within a supportive learning environment.
